A few words about Schinoussa beaches
Schinoussa has 18 very beautiful beaches unspoilt by human intervention, each so different from the other that they will satisfy even the most demanding traveller. Out of the 18 beaches 7 are the main ones which are also accessible by car. The others are accessible either by foot, swimming or by boat. The crystal clear waters and the diversity of the seabed are ideal not only for holiday-makers but also for snorkelers, fishers, swimmers and free-divers. If you like walking then you don't need a car. All beaches are no longer than 3km walking distance from The main village (Chora). The island is small and you won't need to walk more than 30-40 minutes to get to the most distant beach.
Some of Schinoussa beaches are:
-TSIGOURI: It is the most popular and one of the most beautiful beaches of the island, just 200m from Archipelagos. It is sandy and 350m long beach. There are many trees along the beach (ideal for families). 200m from the shore there is a small islet where can go either swimming or with a canoe and sunbathe alone in this paradise islet!
-LIVADI: It is 1km from the village and has golden sand and big trees along the beach. There is a cafe-restaurant on the beach.
-THOLARI: A small and quiet sandy beach within 5 minute walking distance from Livadi.
-LIOLIOU: Beautiful sandy beach on the north side of the island. There is a cafe restaurant near the beach.
-BAZAIOU: Rocky coast with small beaches along.
-ALMIROS: Very beautiful northern sandy beach. It has shallow waters and trees with shade. Ideal for families and little children.
-PSILI AMMOS: A popular beach where the sand stretches from the beach to the top of the hill. It is 2km distance from the village and 200m from Mesaria village. It has crystal clear waters. There is a very nice family tavern nearby.
-FIKIO: Small beach with turquoise waters.
-GEROLIMIONAS: Quiet, small and very beautiful sandy beach located in a large bay. Very nice seabed ideal for exploring and snorkeling.
-PISSO AMMOS: Sandy beach with trees near the harbor. Frequented by those who moor their yachts in the harbor.
-FIDOU: Sandy beach where nudism is allowed. You can only approach it by boat or swimming.
